Acne is the most common symptom of an unhealthy life style . Mostly acne or pimples are found in teenagers or young adults . Though there is no specific age to get acne but majority of the people suffer from acne during there adolescence or pregnancy . If you suffer from sever acne the only thing you can do , and you should do is to consult a dermat or a doctor . But if you have some mild pimples and zits going around than you might need to look into some of these tips to get rid of it .
How to wash face properly to prevent acne
1) Wash you face twice a day
Cleansing is a harsh oil striping step is anyone's skin care routine . Its better to stick to cleansing twice a day . Though for someone with oily skin cleansing often seems to be the best thing , but if you want to keep your skin barrier intact , do not wash your face more than twice a day . If you cleanse your face too often this could dry out your skin , as a result the sebaceous glands produces more sebum and can also lead to damage skin barrier .
2) Exfoliate every third day
Exfoliating is the key to a clear , acne and blemish free face . Rather than squesing and pocking you blackheads and white heads with your nails every single day you should stick to exfoliating every third day with a mild store brought scrub or a home made oats scrub . This will prevent any future break outs .
3) Always Pat dry your face , don't rub
Rubbing your face with a towel creates a lot of friction . Our skin is very sensitive after washing so creating a lot of friction will produce more heat which leads to more sebum production and on the other hand your open pores trap all the dirt and bacteria present o the surface of the towel which increases the chances of acne .
4) Use mild cleansers and scrubs
Scrubs and cleansers should not be too harsh and oil striping . Our skins pH balance is around 5.5 which is slightly acidic , so choosing the cleansers who's pH is around 5.5 should be the goal . When ever you are washing make sure to not disturb the natural pH balance of the skin .
5) Use wheat flour face pack
I would now prefer wheat flour mixed with water as a face pack over any other store bought clay mask . The only reason behind this is ; wheat flour works wonderfully as a face mask and at the same time it doesn't dry out your skin completely . You can just mix wheat flour with plain water or rice water and you face pack is ready . For face scrubbing you can mix wheat flour , gram flour and water or rice water .
6) Use rice water as a cleanser
You can use just rice water as a face cleanser . Rice water also has some amount of anti oxidants , which can help to soothe and calm down if you have irritated and inflammation issues going on your skin . Rice water also helps to prevent any sort of dryness and acne related problems .
